Photography is all about the light. As photographers we learn to see the light, read the light, and capture the light. We use items to modify the light-reflectors, flashes, strobes. Flags can be used to block light. Pixels are changed to make the light look better. Shadows are one thing we either strive to create or remove.
Without light there are no shadows. Without shadows there is no contrast.
There is something about shadows that are fascinating. They show the simplicity of form. But something even deeper than that. They hint at a dark side, a side that is hidden, a side that is rarely seen, something that is unknown.
One of my goals is to capture shadows more in photographs.
We each have a shadow. What is yours hiding?
